Here is the list of the top used essential oils from the NAHA (National Association for Holistic Aromatherapy) and the use that NAHA shares on their Association website. Essential oils are not medicine, but can help affect your body in a supportive way.

Roman chamomile Essential Oil (Chamaemelum nobile): antispasmodic properties, helps with menstrual cramps, feel calm, helps with feelings anxiety/stress, insomnia, great for children (comforting, soothing), anti-inflammatory support

Clary Sage Essential Oil (Salvia sclarea): antispasmodic properties, can help with menstrual cramps, aphrodisiac support, relaxing, helps calm anxiety/stress

Eucalyptus Globulus Essential Oil : expectorant, decongestant properties that are beneficial for natural support during flu/cold season, clearing to the mind, energizing,(avoid with children under 2, use Eucalyptus radiata instead)

Eucalyptus Radiata Essential Oil : expectorant properties, this eucalyptus species is indicated for use with children, helps with respiratory congestion, useful for supporting your body during colds and flu season, antiviral properties

What are essential oils – what are they truly?

Plants are exposed to the same viruses that we are; they’ve been here since before man and have managed to survive. They don’t need vaccinations. When they’re exposed to a pathogen, how do they respond? They have a sac within that has essential oil and it has the ability to adapt to respond to a pathogen. The human body likewise has an ability to respond to pathogens. Combine the essential oils with the body’s chemistry and it enhances the body’s ability to heal itself. I want to go into how I use essential oils as part of my lifestyle for so many support areas I start blogging more. I use them for sore muscles, cellulite reduction, energy, detoxification, staying healthy and even cooking. So stay tuned.
