It comes as no surprise that so many of us have altered fat cells. Many of our bodies have conditions where the body becomes "resistant" to insulin secretion, or the pancreas does not produce insulin, or at least not enough of it. In type II diabetes, the body becomes resistant to insulin so you have higher levels of circulating blood sugar, and yet it is often overlooked that gut health beyond diet is essential to make real change. Also if you are suffering insulin resistance, fat cells cannot store appropriately because the cells are enlarged and inflamed. This increases fatty acids in the blood, leaving the muscle, liver, and pancreas to store it, which leads to increased insulin resistance. Bad choices in the diet make the cells bigger, make our resolutions harder, and trigger more underlying issues. Welcome to the viscous cycle that takes more than diet to change.
